The Inhabitants

Some days ago I was on a nice long bike ride in Dyrehaven.
The paths wind through forests, along small lakes and through open landscapes.

I’m wearing layers upon layers until the jacket can’t hold anymore 🙂
The reason is the Danish winter with a very persistent cold wind.

But I quickly forget the cold when I face the ‘inhabitants’

NOTE

I always keep a good distance to the deer so they won’t be stressed ❤️🤗

The Strong Light of Spring

The strong, uplifting and life-giving light of spring never seems to disappoint me.
We walk on narrow flooded paths between birch trees.
The light is overwhelming and changes the landscape. Grasses turn golden, the white birch glow and the lake shows the wonder of a blue sky.
Staggering!

Walk softly when you walk among herons

Walk softly when you walk among herons it has a dangerous beak 😎🙂

Blue Sky After Storm Otto

Bring a Bowl of Bugs and Spiders, Please!

They all came to see the ducks! Two mandarin ducks. Brightly colored! And very rare in Denmark.

I got a few pictures and left again. After all, I could end up in the water among the ducks. There was crowded on the narrow nature trail 🤗

On the way to my bike there was a slight movement in the green moss.
There he was, Robin.

It was, as if he said: “Haven’t you gone wrong?
It’s the two big glamorous ducks they all want to see. Well, you’ve seen them! And you’d rather look at me?”

Yes, I thought so when I saw Robin flip and spin and finally fly down in front of me.

Robin was a top model that day, he was awesome. What do you pay Robin per hour. I should have had my pockets full of crispy fresh insects 😊 Or a bowl of bugs and spiders.

A Wonderful Gift From Sweden

About 15,000 years ago, a mighty glacier from Central Sweden created the impressive landscape of hills and lakes that today contains Rude Skov. A wonderful forest with an exceptionally varied nature.

I had the great pleasure of walking in the forest in glorious sunshine ❤

The Need of Positive Stories

I need positive stories and I’m not getting them from the news.

January 2023 is the hottest and wettest month on record. Fields are under water and inflation presents many people with challenges. And sadly there is a war going on too.
That’s for Europe alone! Oh! I forgot the Corona scourge.

January is a dark month, particular with the absent of snow.
So I need positive stories and nature doesn’t fail!

Yesterday I saw the little white-throated dipper. It was in a good mood. That’s my own opinion 😉😊 The bird had taken up residence on a rock, if it wasn’t walking around the bottom of the fast-flowing stream in search of spring fly larvae and other goodies.
The bird nodded and preened its feathers and tilted with its tail. Quite a ballet, I think.

The white stag and the white-throated dipper are my crown jewels.
Though the green mosses that light up on fallen trees in the forest floor are marvellous too.
The trees are allowed to stay to support birds with food, they find in cracks and under the bark.

And I forgot all the nice people who are out enjoying nature too. The good talks, many smiles and the enthusiasm! It is uplifting.

Nature is incredible, enchanting, stimulating, sublime, extraordinary, staggering, impressive…

Happy Walks ❤️
