A Wonderful Gift From Sweden

About 15,000 years ago, a mighty glacier from Central Sweden created the impressive landscape of hills and lakes that today contains Rude Skov. A wonderful forest with an exceptionally varied nature.

I had the great pleasure of walking in the forest in glorious sunshine ❤

    • There use to be, Tanja, but things have changed radically. This weekend we are operating with 8 C in daytime.
I have met several people on my bike ride today who are enjoying lunch on a bench in the woods. Quite scary actually but it doesn’t come as a surprise. The weather might change with colder temperatures but that’s hard to tell.
Thanks a lot and a joyous weekend to you, Tanja!!

    • Thanks a lot, Sue. It is great to be out and about on such a lovely day. The woods, lakes and meadows are beautiful and the paths wind around the glories 🙂
      All the best,
      Hanna

    • Thank you so much, Bassavenger!! The sun warms the face, but the ice is strong on the lake.
The cold increases in shadows and low-lying paths, so the walk was carefully planned ❤️
      All the best,
      Hanna

    • Thank you so much for your kind comment, Ashley.
January was the darkest month in living memory, so the wonderful light is most welcome.
After a month of heavy rain and darkness, it is almost an otherworldly state when the weather changes 🙂 ❤️
      All the best,
      Hanna

    • Thanks a lot! The light is marvelous and the sky is wonderful on such a cracking winter day in Denmark ❤
      All the best,
      Hanna

    • Thank you, Alexander! We still have cold days but nothing of importance.
In December we had 10 days of snow and it was truly awesome.
      All the best,
      Hanna

      • Unfortunately, this winter is absolutely different, let’s say, does not look like real Canadian winter. We have mostly grey and rainy days. There were two or three snowstorms, but snow did not lay more then few days. Boring! Hopefully, Spring will be more beautiful and optimistic.
        Have s nice evening!🙂🌹

      • Thanks a lot, Alexander. The weather has changed radically here too. Let us hope for more normality in the clima ❤️
I wish you a joyous and happy weekend and you favourite weather too 😊

  1. It’s sometimes awe inspiring to think about where the water in something as simple as a lake comes from. What a gift nature and history are.

    • Nature and history are truly a gift, Ab.
Speaking of lakes. There was a lake I had passed many times. It was rather idyllic and surrounded by hills. One day I read a description of the area and found out that the lake was a death hole.
Suddenly, I was ‘transported’ back in time and the experience of the area was changed forever. On the bright side, that is ❤
      All the best,
      Hanna
