About counting the days

It was a birthday present to my friend. The hike in Austria. I was responsible for the logistics. The train ride was with a sleeper, a return trip Copenhagen – Munich.
To be honest, it was a bit tiring to find available hotels, checking time tables, get a solid map so we didn’t lost our way in the mountains etc.
At a point I decided for myself that I needed some relaxation before returning to a busy everyday life.
So I let go of the attention to time and timetables. Only for a couple of days or so. That’s all!
But on the train ride home towards Munich my friend suddenly asks me what date it is.
Would you like to check the tickets, I ask.
I’m aware! We lost the train in Munich, we are a day late.
As a whole the trip was a success, and I will write one more post from that summer.

I got the inspiration to this post from Steve Hindley:
ACROSS THE RIVER, TO ANOTHER WORLD

September The Last Of Summer

The birds laugh loud and long together
When Fashion’s followers speed away
At the first cool breath of autumn weather.
Why, this is the time, cry the birds, to stay!
When the deep calm sea and the deep sky over
Both look their passion through sun-kissed space,
As a blue-eyed maid and her blue-eyed lover
Might each gaze into the other’s face.

A Joyful Walk Today

Shady forests, silence, steep slopes and breathtaking views over the deep lake, Furesøen.
