‘Fly bird, fly over the waves of Furesø’ is a poem by the Danish poet Christian Winther. It is one of his most famous and quoted poems. Lake Furesø is a source of eternal inspiration both then and today. The bridge is part of Chr. Winther’s Path.

I cannot think of a better smell than a bog on a summer’s day.

🏖️🦆🌦️☕🥐🌤️🐛 I hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful summer 🦋🌻🍒🍉🚶♂️🚶🐃
Once in a small green field, a group of ordinary cows grazed on grass all day. One day, while munching on clover, they noticed rabbits playing nearby. The cows plotted to become ambush predators, hiding behind bushes to catch the rabbits off guard. However, a premature “Moo!” gave them away. Despite repeated failed attempts, they eventually gave up, returning to grazing. One cow remarked, “Ambushing isn’t for us. Let’s stick to eating grass!” And so, they lived contentedly ever after, watching the rabbits play in the distance.

The wood shavings sprinkled over me from the tall fir trees. Every time I stood still and looked up, everything became still.
After a short time it sounded like this: Chop, chop, chop, chop, and then I noticed the woodpecker sitting in the firs.*
Today is the first real day of spring! A wonderful ‘tree show’ and the sweet sound of woodpeckers. Whoopee! 😊

My own picture, with the two woodpeckers, appears in ‘Bevar Møllen ved Stampen‘, June 2015. The second image of ‘Den Store Flagspætte’, Dendrocopos major, is generated using AI.
It is believed that when you hear the call of a woodpecker, it is a message from nature urging you to be aware of the opportunities and changes happening in your life.
Having wood shavings sprinkled over me is an exquisite sign 🎈😎
*My picture of the woodpecker today wasn’t good enough, so I chose my old picture from 2015. Woodpeckers have a thing for moving 😂
It was a day that included all weather conditions.
The day started cloudy and in dry weather. It blew up, and a few holes in the cloud cover revealed a blue sky, so infinitely beautiful.
But when I looked over my shoulder, dark clouds were towering, and soon the snow was gathering around us, painting the ground white.
When we came out of the forest we caught sight of this: The pond with two young swans and the wonderful sky reflecting on the surface.

The Danish butterflies are short of flowers.
I searched for three days and found only one butterfly.
Might be looking the wrong places.
The beach is unlikely this time of year 😁
Create your own wild meadow with flower seeds to help the small birds.
hans daad, hans navn.

God tur uanset vejret ❤
Click here to see some serious snow from Norway 🙂
