An inspiring, humorous and kind blogger has left us.

Dedicated blogger and journalist, Alen McFadzean is no longer among us.
I will miss his humorous posts about mysteriously forgotten train waggons in the mountains. The colourful depictions of the Vikings’ entry into England, and his ability to link historical events with the exploration of his mountains.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.

The Poetic Fjords

Gentle, peacefully, picturesque and lovely. That is the Danish Fjords. A breathtaking look will dazzle you when your eyes catch sight of small houses along the coastline and toy-like ferries that serve the islands with goods, mail and travellers.

Cloudy Skies

Don’t forget:
Beautiful sunsets need cloudy skies.

The first of December

King Frost came to visit

Today was the day we had been waiting for. Sunshine and frost in the grass. I went for a wonderful outing among many 🙂

The Marvellous Sky

Light! We spoke photography and light.
When I got home I thought about the sea.
Is there anything better than the light by the sea?
It was to be the mountains: Norway, Valdresflya.
The wide view and a marvellous experience of the sky.
The picture below is from Hundested, North Zealand, Denmark.

Enjoying the evening sky

I came out of the woods just before dusk.
A poplar towards the evening sky was the first sight that met me.
What a sight!

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Don’t Go Into That Rain

Bad weather does not exist! It is only a matter of clothes and positive attitude.
That attitude has worked for me for many years.
But a jammed jet stream makes me suffer together with many people and not only in Denmark.
It has caused the wettest autumn in man’s memory, and will probably end up making it the wettest year ever.
It is as if the sun has disappeared forever.
That’s why I visited my time machine – Autumn 2018. A necessity for maintaining a healthy mental state 🙂

The headline is not to be confused with one of my favourite poems by Dylan Thomas: Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. Sorry about my black humour!

A Secret Gate

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate
And though I oft have passed them by
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
