A Happy Change

I had a lovely shift in the weather yesterday:

A grey sky is broken,
by a fresh wind.
The smell of brine, and dog rose.
A new poem begins,
one full of play and white horses.

The Western Wind

The weather often changes in Denmark.
The western wind brings a raft of low pressure across the country

An idyllic quiet day by the sea

A creation of some outstanding clouds in the sky.

Kite surfing in icy weather

Storm coming up

Enjoying the day despite the lack of sun

A joyous speed on a beautiful stormy day

The white mountains of Denmark

Møns Klint is an outstanding place.
It’s beautiful, dramatic and not without danger.
Weather changes are guilty of many landslides over the years.

Some of the latest landslides:

Sommerspiret, disappeared in 1988.

In 1994, a part of Dronningestolen slipped down to the sea. A French tourist was killed.

A huge landslide happened in 2007, when up to 500,000 cubic meters of chalk, clay and soil together with approx. 100 beech trees slipped 300 meters into the Baltic Sea.

A Bike Ride On Route N9

I’ve been bike riding on Route N9 in the summer heat.

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
John Lubbock

The route lies between Copenhagen and Elsinore. In fact the route actually ends in Gedser. Read more about N9
Always look out for traffic no matter if you cross the coastal road or choose to stay on route N9

Remember a worthy packed lunch 👩‍🍳🥐🥑🥕🥙🥝
And leave nothing behind you than exquisite ruts from your bike 😎

The Magical Water

If there is magic on the planet, it is contained in the water.

The Sea Makes My Heart Sing

A Quote by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:

“My soul is full of longing
for the secret of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean
sends a thrilling pulse through me.”

Come Play In The Waves

I did a wonderful walk in the Northern part of Zealand today.
The sea was fabulous reflecting the blue sky.
The lifeguards were in place at Villingebæk Beach:
”Come and play in the small waves”
Air: 18 C, Water: 17 ° C,
Not yet ❄

Hamlet would approve

The day was incredible hot and people took the opportunity to take a swim in historic surroundings overlooking Kronborg Castle. A spectacular choice if you ask me 😎

The Light

Yesterday was a wonderful day by the seaside.
An unexpected summer day.

The eastern light our spires touch at morning,
The light that slants upon our western doors at evening,
The twilight over stagnant pools at batflight,
Moon light and star light, owl and moth light,
Glow-worm glowlight on a grassblade.
O Light Invisible, we worship Thee!

T.S. Eliot

World Oceans Day

Ocean
I am in love with Ocean
lifting her thousands of white hats
in the chop of the storm,
or lying smooth and blue, the
loveliest bed in the world.
In the personal life, there is

always grief more than enough,
a heart-load for each of us
on the dusty road. I suppose
there is a reason for this, so I will be
patient, acquiescent. But I will live
nowhere except here, by Ocean, trusting
equally in all the blast and welcome
of her sorrowless, salt self.
