VALDRESFLYA HOSTEL IS CLOSED

This is a beautiful and interesting place in Norway, a mountain pass; Valdresflya.
Now the hostel is closed and construction projects are implemented for a facility centre for tourists instead.
But you are still able to park the car and walk in these stunning surroundings.
The pictures are old ones but loved never the less 🙂

There is an interesting possibility instead of the hostel.

The Polluted Lake

Here at Søllerød Lake was a laundry from the years 1850 to 1974.
The laundry spent many chemicals which were discharged into the lake.
Also, a treatment plant contributed to the lake’s pollution until the municipality closed the outdated plant in 2005.
Søllerød Municipality removed the nutrient-rich water from the lake for 18 years.
The lake was green due to heavy pollution.
Now you can enjoy a swim in the lake if it is warm enough I might add.

If you take a walk on the 42 kilometer long Rudersdalruten you will pass Søllerød Lake on your way.

When summer approaches outdoor activities increase around us.
Sail boats are being rigged, fishing boats land their catch, children are playing in the water and a single angler gives an interview to hannaswalk.
Only one roll with the fishing rod and dinner was secured 🙂

Blue Flag beaches in Denmark

This summer the Blue Flag is hoisted at 262 Danish beaches and marinas as a symbol of clean water, security, high service and nature.
Denmark is awarded with 224 Blue Flag beaches and 38 Blue Flag Ports in 2016.

Years ago in a secret place of the forest, Nørreskoven I incidentally looked up in a tall tree and there it was, an owl looking down at me from a big nesting box.
One day after a storm the nesting box lay shattered on the ground. Today I’m showing a new friend one of my favourite spots and I told her about the owl.
There’s a new place for nest-seeking owls but owls wasn’t what we saw.
