“…into the coppery halls
of beech and intricate oak
to be close to the trees
as they whisper together
let fall their leaves…”

The yellow foliage shines like sunshine. Buzzards screech above me as they gather before the journey.
I hear the cranes before I see their wedge-shaped silhouette. They trumpet loudly above my head.
Those birds are amazing!! October is outstanding 😊

“October had tremendous possibility. The summer’s oppressive heat was a distant memory, and the golden leaves promised a world full of beautiful adventures. They made me believe in miracles.”
~ Sarah Guillory, Reclaimed

“The winds will blow their own freshness into you,
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you
like the leaves of Autumn.”
~ John Muir

“…The earth never tires,
The earth is rude, silent, incomprehensible at first, Nature is rude and incomprehensible at first,
Be not discouraged, keep on, there are divine things well envelop’d,
I swear to you there are divine things more beautiful than words can tell…”
Song of the Open Road by Walt Whitman

When fog, haze and twilight dominate the whole day, and the news are bad, choose the path carefully.
The narrow, winding path is a great way to get closer to nature and feel better for a moment❤️
I cheated and went in sunshine, but I promise you, it works on a hazy day too 😎

I’ve been out and about in the neighbourhood.
I’m happy to announce that the colours are evolving for the annual fireworks 🙂 🎉

Finally the rain fell and so violent that the sound kept us awake for a long time.
But the result ..

“These are the days of the endless summer
These are the days, the time is now
There is no past, there’s only future
There’s only here, there’s only now..”
“These Are the Days” ~ Van Morrison
In early spring, when the first birds announce their arrival. At winter time, when the silence descends and the ground turns white.
Or like now, when the wonderful endless summer must give way to the coming of autumn.
I´ve walked along the lake in all seasons.
In the span between summer and autumn, when the sun is still warm and the nights are cold. Now is the most lovely time to wander. There’s only here, there’s only now 1.

Note
1 “These Are the Days” is a song written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison and released on his 1989 album Avalon Sunset. It was released as the B-side of the single with “Orangefield” as the A-side.
You can find this wonderful song on YouTube and Spotify.
