It isn’t advisable to walk on the ice

The read sign says: It isn’t advisable to walk on the ice.
This spring has been remarkable. Within three days all kind of weather has shown itself but the ice on the pond didn’t materialize 🙂

Sometimes you have to fight against trolls…

We met small people armed with sticks and they looked very apprehensive.
They were about to explore a passage grave from the Neolithic.
The passage grave is so spacious that there certainly is room for a troll or two 🙂

Spring and winter at the same time

The walk was spring like for a start but turned out with snowy trails by the sea. It was hard to believe that the difference could be that big over such a small distance but that’s probably due to the cold sea.

A walk from Nymølle to Taarbaek Havn, Lyngby.

Silk-Stocking Gents

On my way to the grocery I met these brave silk-stocking gents posing in the frost and snow.

A walk in the month of March

Todays walk is the finest expression for the month of March:
Sun at the start, mud on the path, replaced by white creaking snow after a few hundred meters.
Then the sun disappears behind a cloud and soon sleet drifts across the fields.
Happy walk ❤

March is a tomboy with tousled hair, a mischievous smile, mud on her shoes and a laugh in her voice.

What day is it?

“What day is it?”
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.

My walk yesterday wasn’t much of a hill walk but it was an outstanding walk.
A gale ruled and the temperature was minus 8 degrees.
Therefore I planned my walk with the wind in my back.
Best walk I had for years 🙂

A Great Walk Along Lake Esrum

We had a wonderful sunny walk along Lake Esrum some days ago.

Lake Esrum is the largest lake in Denmark by water volume and the second-largest lake by surface area, after lake Arresø. It is situated in the central part of North Zealand (the northeastern region of Zealand), straddling the boundaries of the municipalities Hillerød, Fredensborg, Helsingør and Gribskov, some 40 kilometres north of Copenhagen. wikipedia.

A Happy Walk

I had a happy walk yesterday.
For once the sun shone, and there was only one place where the path was impossible to walk. I did not want to swim and had to turn around. On the other hand, I managed to balance along the ski trail, where snow and mud were adorned by small lakes.

Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.

How is the weather?

The best weather this week is Tuesday.
If that’s the best weather, I think my suitcase is crying for a refill 🙂

January

A walk enclosed in black brown grey and a bit of green colours 🙂

Bare branches of each tree
on this chilly January morn
look so cold so forlorn.
Gray skies dip ever so low
left from yesterday’s dusting of snow.
Yet in the heart of each tree
waiting for each who wait to see
new life as warm sun and breeze will blow,
like magic, unlock springs sap to flow,
buds, new leaves, then blooms will grow.
