Shade and Coolness During the Heat Wave

A Summer Afternoon in August

A few days ago we had a wonderful summer afternoon, with a cool breeze from the lake. Good to be out and about in old settings to check if they were as beautiful as remembered 😊🥰👏

I love to see the summer beaming forth
And white wool sack clouds sailing to the north
I love to see the wild flowers come again
And mare blobs stain with gold the meadow drain
And water lilies whiten on the floods
Where reed clumps rustle like a wind shook wood
Where from her hiding place the Moor Hen pushes
And seeks her flag nest floating in bull rushes
I like the willow leaning half way o’er
The clear deep lake to stand upon its shore
I love the hay grass when the flower head swings
To summer winds and insects happy wings
That sport about the meadow the bright day
And see bright beetles in the clear lake play

A Summer Adventure

“Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here…”
~ Mark Twain

Lovely walk yesterday. Today’s weather turned out very hot and didn’t invite for walking.
An extremely hot wind from south made the temperature rose rapidly.
Not like in the poem of Mark Twain 😊

Serenity on a Rainy Sunday

One of my Favourite Lakes

We walk a few kilometers along winding residential roads with flowering shrubs, trees and cozy houses, and soon we are down by the lake.
This is years and a few lock downs since I last was here, and I’m completely overwhelmed by the thoughts of all the fun and strenuous experiences that have piled up over the years.
It is cold and windy. The weather is very changeable and the rain showers violent. Still, we meet people who are out and about.
Soon it is pouring down with hail and heavy rain, and we hurry to shelter under some large oak trees. Another awesome moment where nature sets the agenda ⛈️😊

Thankfully, it wasn’t too cold for a good laugh

Solbjerg Engsø! I have a fond memory of a summer day with differently coloured flowers along the northern part of the lake.
The lake is known as a foraging site for resident- and migratory birds. I’m well aware that it’s too early for summer flowers, but maybe there were migratory birds.
A man came walking towards the parking lot with a bird binoculars around his neck.

Have you seen any rare birds today, I asked.

No not at all, he replied. Some geese on the lake, that’s all.
I was hoping for some migratory birds, but it’s probably too cold for them.
We talked a bit about how cold it was. And about the relatively few shrubs and trees with sprouted flowers compared to the season.
As we stood on the path, the sun disappeared and the wind picked up.
If you go down to the lake there is a bench but it’s not much worth.
Why not, I asked. It’s way too cold, too, he said laughing.

We wished each other a wonderful spring despite: ‘You – Know – What’☃️❄️😊

An Irish Blessing:

May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow.
May the soft winds freshen your spirit.
May the sunshine brighten your heart
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you.
And may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.

Walk Lightly in Spring …

I had a nice walk by the lakes. Not the lakes that glorify Northern England, but 25 wonderful small lakes and ponds in Denmark.
Spring gets better year by year 🤗

“Walk lightly in the spring; Mother Earth is pregnant.”
~ Native American Indian Proverb (Kiowa)

Happy walk and remember your packed lunch! 🙂

Upcoming glorious record for a sunny March

A giant 1051,6 hektopascal air pressure sets a new record and completely shatter the old March record, dating from 1880, measuring 1049.4 hectopascals.
