This spring came suddenly from day to day. Even the snowdrifts gave up the fight eventually. They lay boasting of the last snow, telling a story of an unexpectedly harsh winter. But maybe we haven’t seen the end of winter yet.
~ Thaw by Edward Thomas
Over the land freckled with snow half-thawed
The speculating rooks at their nests cawed
And saw from elm-tops, delicate as flowers of grass,
What we below could not see, Winter pass.

Wonderful shot.
Thank you, Rupali!!
Gorgeous poem and photo. It is a blue sky day here and I feel spring is bound to skip forward.
Thank you, Ali. The sky and light are magnificent right now. It is much appreciated 😀
This time of year we also see many cycles of cold and warmer weather. It’s a time I love!
Hi Montucky. It’s like a wonderful firework. I know you are looking for the beautiful mountain flowers as the snow melts. The cycle of nature is fascinating.
Such a beautiful idyllic scene!
Thank you, Ab. I keep days like that close to my heart. It sounds solemn, but I’m glad to have been there on that beautiful day.
Beautiful, Hanna. I like the cabin in the distance, the animal tracks in the foreground, and the way you used the trees to frame your photo. –Curt
Thanks a lot, Curt. It was a great day to be out and about. The beauty of snow always surprises me. The silence and the smell of snow. It’s as if the birds are holding their breath. Everything is quiet. I wish there was a little hut by the river, but it’s a group of dark reeds against the white snow cover. When I looked closely, I was even able to place a window.
The intriguing thing about snow is the new landscape it creates. But we might have seen the last of it for now!
My imagination must have been working overtime on the cabin. 🙂 Might get snow here tonight. I’m ready for a snow walk if so! –Curt
Haha! The human brain is amazing. It is capable of filling any opening. This time with a well-located cottage 😀
I hope you have snow, Curt!
Dear Hanna,
thank you very much for sharing this beautiful winter picture and the text. Spring came here over night as well. It’s a pity that winter has gone just after ten days. Today we worked in warm sunshine in our garden. It was unusually warm.
All the best

Thanks for that, Klaus. I wish for the warm weather to continue. It is said to reduce the number of infections.
Keep up the good gardening ✔😀 Lovely work in spring though!
All the best,
Hanna
Thank you very, dear Hanna 🙏 🙏
That’s it, you’ve quoted my favourite poet! Thaw!
Awesome, I chose right this time!! 😀😊
A ncie silvery scene. And I never read that poem before, also very nice!
Thank you, Robert. Glad you liked the poem. It’s great that I can add new poems to your collection 😊
That thaw weather day excelled in many ways. The white gala dress always surprises and delights.
