The Early Spring and Spring Pools

These pools that, though in forests, still reflect
The total sky almost without defect,
And like the flowers beside them, chill and shiver,
Will like the flowers beside them soon be gone,
And yet not out by any brook or river,
But up by roots to bring dark foliage on.

The trees that have it in their pent-up buds
To darken nature and be summer woods –
Let them think twice before they use their powers
To blot out and drink up and sweep away
These flowery waters and these watery flowers
From snow that melted only yesterday.

  1. Another beautiful Robert Frost poem! I’m a big fan of his writing. I’m also a big fan of your uplifting posts, Hanna. I love what you’ve done with these shots. Happy Sunday to you! 🙂

    • …and thank you for another uplifting comment on my post, Jane 🙂 🙂
Robert Frost is a favourite of mine too.
I have become very inspired by your close studies of fungi, so you may be presented with new species, although I’m not so good at putting names on them 🙂
Very happy Sunday to you too!!!

  3. Thank you for the 2 really great posts I have seen here today! Hope you & yours are all well! ❤

    • Dear Resa. Thank you for your wishes and kind words. I’m doing great and preparing myself for the long-awaited spring. I hope you can keep up with all your work assignments!
Wishing you a joyful Sunday ❤
      All the best,
