We went from Islands Brygge to Refshaleøen. A fun and interesting walk. Fun because of the colorful life along the canal, and interesting because we went through districts that exude interesting ship- and industrial history.
On Refshaleøen it is the history of the shipyard Burmeister & Wain that occupies our thoughts. Denmark’s largest shipyard and leading diesel engine manufacturer until 1996.

Vi gik fra Islands Brygge til Refshaleøen. En sjov og interessant gåtur. Sjov på grund af det farverige liv langs kanalen, og interessant, fordi vi gik gennem kvarterer, der rummer interessant skibs- og industrihistorie.
På Refshaleøen er det historien om skibsværftet Burmeister & Wain, som optager vores tanker. Danmark største skibsværft og førende dieselmotor producent indtil 1996.

¡Sí! La etapa fue de Andorra a Lleida a través de una enorme hermosa quebrada.
Encantado de que te guste mi pais. En Lleida come “caracoles a la llauna” (snails) son típicos de allí! Un abrazo Hanna, que te diviertas y pon alguna foto de la Vuelta!
Yo prefiero el pescado en lugar de caracoles 🙂

Jane, I really do appreciate the work that has been done for bringing the environment in good shape.
The port has been characterized by heavy industry for many years and it isn’t many years ago that the basins for bathing was established because the water was clean enough. That makes me happy and so does your comment 🙂

Querida Barbara. El verano ha sido horrible este año. Pero cuando el sol logró brillar a través de las muchas capas oscuras de amenazadoras nubes, todos los seres vivos florecieron y la alegría era notable entre todos. La luz del sol es un gran tamaño 🙂

Many familiar sights as well as some new ones. I need to spend some time on Island Brygge. Thanks for the photographic reminder.
It really is a marvellous walk through the streets of Island Brygge and Christians Havn. The Harbour Bus makes it so much easier if you don’t have that much time or cannot walk that far.
