“There is a lovely land with spreading, shady beeches…”
These opening lines are the introduction to one of the Danish national anthems. The words always make me think of a special place along the eastern coastline of Zealand the sea called Øresund.
Huge beautiful trees are standing as a symbol of ancient warriors and provide humans and gods cooling shade on a hot summer day. Some of those trees are leaning towards the sea as a tribute to the reflection of the blue sky.
I went on a bike ride along the Mill Stream to have a look at this unique place.
Once again, my expectations were fulfilled. The road to the sea is gorgeous now that all the foliage turn green. I drove through the deer park where the crown deer stood in the shadows like statues watching all my movements. I know where they are. Otherwise, I had driven past oblivious to them.
Finally, I could see the coast of Sweden in the distance behind the flashing blue sea while I was surrounded by those stately trees.
I was confirmed, this is Freya’s Hall.

That was enchanting. The sky and the sea are so blue. Wonderful images, Hanna.
All the best, Alen
Alen, I am sure that you have taken pictures of a place you like, and subsequently find they don’t justify the inner experience you have of the place. I have to make a try another day. That’s a nice excuse for another excursion 🙂
All the best,
Hanna
Hanna, you’re really turning the screw now!
I’m doing my best 🙂 🙂
Vakkert og stemningsfullt. Ha en fin helg og nyt våren 😊
Kære Kjersti. Jeg har været på en lang cykeltur i dag, og skoven er næsten helt grøn. Naturen grønnes dag for dag. ‘Den’ behøver ikke at ha’ så travlt 🙂 …og jeg nød det!
Mange gode hilsner forårshilsner herfra og god weekend ❤
Hanna
Another gorgeous tour! I’ve recently read a book about a character called Freya. It’s a beautiful name I think. 🙂
You are kind, Jane 🙂 The nature is stunning at the moment.
I easily let me fascinate by the Norse Mythology which Freya is a part of. I find mythology interesting since it is included as a natural part of our culture. I think Freya is a beautiful name too.
Wish you a lovely weekend!
Hanna
Very beautiful pictures Hanna, I absolutely love them.
Dear Isabel. It is such a great pleasure to explore nature at the moment. Thank you ❤
All the best,
Hanna
Beautiful!
Well, now you can see what you are missing by not going to Denmark in May, Ash. I will post more of these heartbreaking beautiful surroundings from the lovely Zealand in Denmark 😀 😉
