They are celebrating National Tree Week in England from 24th November – 2nd December 2018. What a great idea.
I think England has a lovely tradition celebrating their trees. That gives hope for the future.
The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way.
Some see Nature all ridicule and deformity, and some scarce see Nature at all.
But to the eyes of the man of imagination, Nature is Imagination itself.
William Blake, 1799, The Letters.
A wonderful celebration – thank you for posting on it! And William Blake was right.
Leya, I hope it’s infectious 🙂 🙂

A week dedicated to trees – that’s lovely. Trees can bring us such joy 🙂
This is so true ❤ They are the key to our existence.

I’m in the middle of national tree week and I didn’t even know until I read this. Thank you, I was just thinking how much the trees have changed in the last four weeks, from russet and gold autumnal splendour to stripped bare December skeletons, revealing their strength and structure. I was obviously in tune with the week, if only subconsciously. Beautiful William Blake quote too.
I have always been fascinated by the sea, but I’ve learned to love the forest. The forest changes its expression as the sea varies in surface and colour. An always changing landscape.
I live in a region where I am surrounded by old oaks. The picture in my post is mine. I found an editing program with a frame theme. It resulted in an exhibition at a museum 🙂
Some people do not engender nature. Others are deeply interested. That’s why the museum frame fits so well with William Blake’s quote 🙂
I’m glad you became aware of how excellent your unconscious works 🙂
Your pictures are wonderful.
Thank you, George!! The oak in the frame was a beautiful sanctuary on a very hot day this summer. The tree is doing well, although it is hollow. It’s the same age as Copenhagen, over 800 years old.
Indeed a great idea. In Denmark we have since 1994 celebrated the “day of the forest” on the first sunday in May, but this is now being cancelled – see https://www.facebook.com/skovensdag/posts/1861047877264013. In addition there is the UN International Day of Forests on March 21st, but this have never been observed in Denmark. See

Thank you for the information!!
There’s this tree in South Africa, somewhere in the Overberg, it had a few degrees written about this particular Oak… Love to the trees and the earth they walk upon. https://360tree.wordpress.com/2012/11/
Thanks for the link and your comment, Seanbidd!!
Great scene…
…and yes, tress are important and beautiful.
Thank you, rabirius I agree!!!
Without trees, no life!
You’re right, Tanja. It’s elementary, but not in everyone’s consciousness.
