That doesn’t sound so good. I hope the flood wasn’t too bad and you are safe, Hanna!
Many thanks, Tanja!
We were out in the storm before it really got bad.
Although Denmark is a small country, there can be enormous differences in the weather.
In the southern part of the country, a centennial event has occurred in terms of high water levels.
Due to the long-lasting wind/storm, the sea has packed up, inside the fjords. Here, people have been evacuated. Many safety measures are taken with respect to power. This means partially darkened districts.
Yes, it is tuff for the many people who are directly affected by the storm surge.
We are lucky enough to live 6 kilometers from the coast, so it is ‘only’ the trees that can topple over.
All the best,
Hanna
I’m glad you are safe and I hope things will return to normal soon for everybody!
Thank you!!
We have seen pictures from a small town on the south coast. The harbor has been razed to the ground, literally.
I think you are more used to natural disasters in the US than we are in Denmark.
Have a great weekend, Tanja!!
💚
Hope goes well with the flood.Anita
Many thanks, Anita. The storm surge has created a lot of chaos. Water level increased by 2 metres, supplemented by hurricane force gusts.
Some pictures have reminded me of tsunami incidents that have happened over time.
Hanna
Thanks
