What is the daylight like in Denmark in December?
Our average sunshine hours is 1.28 per day.
On December 21, the sun sets at 15.37 and it is DARK night at 18.00.
On cloudy days, the lunch break is experienced as twilight.
But when the snow covers the landscape and the sun shines –
The last week has been absolutely amazing!
PS I know we’ve made it to January 😅

Happy New Week Wherever You Are ✨❤️
Your pics are simply gorgeous!!!
Thank you, Luisa!! My outing was spectacular ❤️😊☃️
So glad to hear that!🩵🩵🩵
So very beautiful, I’m so happy to have seen your lovely photos on this stormy day here in West Cork!
Thanks a lot for your lovely cheer!!!❤️
We had our share of your storm today. Wearing quite a bit of rain too 😊😊
And another storm on the way Hanna 🙂
Be safe!
Thanks!!! You too. We might be washed away to night. No, just joking though I shouldn’t 😅🙂
I had that experience when I lived in Alaska, Hanna.
Thanks for that, Curt! I believe that you have experienced most of what is humanly possible. I mean that in a positive way!
Oh I wish, Hanna, at least the good stuff. 🙂
🙂🙂
Everybody is so happy with snow and sunny days! Over here in the Netherlands and in Belgium as well, everyone is telling about outings in sunny snow, blue skies, hot chocolate afterwards. 🙂 Lovely pictures Hanna!
Many thanks, Peter! I do understand them, those in Holland and Belgium 😊
It’s like becoming a child again, in a good way 😎😃
I love your description of their outings, hopefully it was part of your experience as well!
You know I don’t like the cold, Hanna, but there’s no doubt that these are beautiful.
Jo, I thank you for your lovely words, even though I know you freeze when you see the motifs 😃❤️
🤗🩵
I find winters hard because of the short amount of daylight. I can’t imagine it being dark by 4 pm. But on the flip side, how amazing it must be to have your long summer days!
Thanks for your comment, Ab. The lack of daylight is a problem for many people. Especially because lack of Melatonin can cause sleep problems. “Every third Dane has problems falling asleep, and for almost half of them this has meant that they have changed habits and routines to get rid of the sleep problems.” Kantar Gallup for Gjensidige.
The bright nights are very beautiful, yes, almost poetic. And now that you mention them, I’m already looking forward to it. ❤️😊
All the best,
Hanna
The bright nights will be here soon!
🙂🙂
Winter wonderland at it’s very best!
Thanks a lot, Mary! Those walks lately has been a blessing. So full a joy and beauty ✨😊
Here in NI today we’re thankful that Storm Isha didn’t affect us although there are homes without electricity (about 40,000). We’ve been lucky. Sunrise today 08.31 & sunset 16.44. Your snowy pictures are lovely. I hope Isha doesn’t spoil things! 🤗🙋♂️
Thanks for your weather report too, Ashley 😃 Sorry to hear about all those people without electricity. One should really prepare oneself for such incidents and for more reasons than the weather alone.
We had our share of storm! The snow is almost gone due to the rain Isha was wearing. But I know how it is with snow in Denmark. So I’ve been out at every given opportunity. I’m happy just thinking about the snow-covered landscapes ❤️
Such beautiful winter pictures Hanna! Here in the middle of Sweden, the sun rose at 08:38 and went down at 15:41. Short days but all the snow that has fallen gives light and power.
Nice to have a weather report from Sweden, Håkan!
Do you have more snow than usual?
It is wonderful when the snow lights up. It’s exactly as if it’s Christmas Eve all the time ✨😊
Light and power!! Just presis 😎🎉 Just precis!!
Thanks a lot for your lovely comment!!
