Warning: Do not eat mushrooms you find in the wild unless you are an expert!!
Mushrooms in Autumn: One was asleep 😊

I’m glad he was sleeping! Imagine if he stood up 🧌☠️ Maybe he’s planning Halloween
Fomes fomentarius in English or Tinder Fungus or … don’t eat him!

Wonderful spectacle in Mølleådalen

Chicken of the woods. Laetiporus sulphureus – don’t eat them!

Apioperdon pyriforme – Pear-shaped puffball or Stump puffball – Don’t eat them!
Better Safe Than Sorry 😀
I always eat some of the pear-shaped puffballs every year, but they’re not that special right enough!
That’s interesting, Margaret. Are they not ‘ripe’ or are they too old?
How do you prepare them?
Fried in butter usually, on toast. I find the pyriforme ones are a bit soft compared to very young round species, but it does depend on age and how quickly you eat them after picking!
Thank you for your answer, Margaret!!
We walk a lot in nature, but we have a very long way to go to find mushrooms ourselves.
We use the Google lens app to determine the mushrooms. But it does require a little more knowledge than what an app tells us 🙂
It sounds delicious with mushrooms roasted in butter.
Gorgeous photos!
Thanks, Ali ⚘️😘
I only eat mushrooms bought from the shop! 😋😋😋
We know that all too well, Ashley 🙂🙂
But having the right knowledge could be fascinating.
Stories exist of people who should never have eaten the last one in line
We picked Yellowfeet today here in Finland… it’s been cold recently, they were all frozen! 😀
Hi Samuel! Lovely to hear from you!!
I hope the little delicate mushrooms survived the journey home to the kitchen 😃
PS I had to stop by Google to figure out the yellow feet. I don’t know about the frost! 🙂
Yes they survived, they thawed on the way. We have so much that we’ll have to fry and then freeze them again 😀
😃😃
Thanks for sharing great mushroom advice – happy trails!
You are most welcome, Mary 🙂⚘️
Amazing photos!
