The Ancient Oak Tree

    • Hi Robert. Thanks a lot for your encouragement!!
      The little signboard says:
      “We cut down trees…
To create an open, deer-friendly forest with light for grass and herbs.”
The forest area is 10 square kilometres and is designed to accelerate biodiversity.
When old trees fall over in storms they are left for forest animals to find food under bark and between mosses.
The forester doesn’t shed trees that are older than 150 years.
The ancient oak stands in one of the entrances to the forest.
Last summer it gave a welcome coolness to many a warm guest in the forest 🌤 🤗
